Un couple gay, marié selon les rites tamouls, en lune de miel à Maurice
Toute publicité est-elle bonne à prendre ? Notre île est aujourd’hui citée, par presque toute la presse indienne, pour être celle qu’ont choisie deux Sud-africains pour leur lune de miel. Le problème, c’est que le couple homosexuel s’est uni selon les rites « hindous ». Ce qui dérange les chefs religieux d’Afrique du Sud et de l’Inde.

C’est le très sérieux Times of India qui a levé le lièvre samedi. Dans son édition sur le web, il parle du tollé soulevé, au sein des instances religieuses hindoues de ces deux pays, depuis la célébration du mariage par un prêtre tamoul à Durban.
Ainsi, Joe Singh et Wesley Nolan, tous deux âgés de 21 ans, sont entrés dans l’histoire comme étant le premier couple gay à avoir été uni selon les rites millénaires. Le prêtre a presque tout suivi à la lettre : « hawan », le feu cérémonial, et la marche autour du feu. Les Indiens expatriés de la communauté gay ont félicité le couple sur les différents blogs qui viennent de reprendre la nouvelle. L’histoire des amoureux est toute bête : Joe Singh est Sales Advisor dans une entreprise de Durban. Il a flashé sur son manager Wesley Nolan, il y a presque deux ans.
Mariage contesté
Si les deux ont choisi un mariage hindou, c’est parce qu’ils sont croyants. Le collier du
dieu Ganesh autour du cou de Joe Singh, c’est pour « ward off evil ». Alors pourquoi pas le « thali », que le mari attache autour du cou de sa femme ? Les deux expliquent que ce serait « inapproprié » car « we are both husbands ».
Les parents de Wesley Nolan étant contre, la cérémonie a dû se faire chez le beau-père de Joe Singh, Krish Govender. Vu le scandale, le prêtre tamoul n’a pas voulu rendre son nom public, pour ne pas avoir affaire aux intégristes.
Mais beaucoup contestent ce mariage, dont le président de la South African Hindu Maha Sabha, Ashwin Trikamjee. Il explique que ces rites ne s’appliquent que pour un couple hétérosexuel. « The essence of the Hindu marriage is the fact that before the marriage proper takes place the parents have to formally consent to their daughter, called ‘kanya’ in Sanskrit, to be married to a male », lâche-t-il.
Le président de la South African Tamil Federation, Mickey Chetty, ne reconnaît pas non plus cette union, célébrée par un prêtre tamoul. Les activistes des droits humains, eux, soutiennent que les lois sud-africaines reconnaissent les mariages homosexuels. La mère de Joe Singh, Rita Govender, est montée au créneau en insistant sur le fait que c’est elle qui a voulu d’un mariage traditionnel. « I did not want them to live in sin. They are humans and deserve to lead a normal life », fait-elle ressortir.
Après leur lune de miel à Maurice, Wesley Nolan et Joe Singh veulent adopter un enfant, afin de vivre comme un couple normal.

Goodness sake…leave those ppl alone..they gt the right to marry whoever they want and how they want to do it. The society has to mind its own business, always interering with other people’s matters. I just wish the couple gudluck in their future, cz its aint gonna be easy…

If even though we accept and that they adopt…is it normal for the child to be exposed to two fathers or two mothers.
According if even though it do happen and approve ,then the said child will develop the same character..if the human race is fill with gay…then who will reproduce…..we cannot for the sake of modernity and tolerance approve such immorality….what ywe should do instead is to teach them real values..family values…….
What these people have done have nothing to do with anybody else……….The legality of their union may be questionable but there are gay people living as couples together everywhere…..including India!!!!!!!!, South Africa, Mauritius and in most countries in the world. There is so much hyprocrisy in the world……I have some friends who are gay and you could not meet nicer people……….what they do in their private lives does not concern me…live and let live i say…..busy bodies should mind their own business and find something more constructive to keep themselves occupied…………..

Le mariage est un acte sacré entre un homme et une femme. N oubliez pas Dieu a créé Adam puis Eve et de leurs union, on est tous devenu leurs descendants quelque soit nos couleurs, races ou religions. Donc que les homosexuels vivent selon leurs choix en choisissant comme partenaire une personne du même sexe, c’est une chose mais que ces personnes choisissent de s’unir, c’est un affront à la religion et c’est de la provocation……………Par ailleurs, par rapport au commentaire précédent, je me pose la question, est-ce-que l’hindouisme encourage l’homoséxualité ??????????????

Ce sont aussi les propos de la mère qui me font rire ‘elle ne voulait pas qu’ils vivent dans le pêché’, à croire que deux hommes sont fait pour vivre en couple et grâce à cette soit-disant bénédiction, ils vivront sainement. C’est une abomination.” : Lévitique 18:22 – C’est à cause de l’homosexualité que Dieu détruisit la ville de Sodome et Gomorrhe où ses habitants ont été punis par Dieu……D’ailleurs, la procréation n’est pas un vain mot…..
