Thiery Henry to meet Nicolas Sarkozy for Post Mortem on French World Cup
According to reports on Wednesday French President Nicolas Sarkozy will be holding an hour-long meeting with French striker Thierry Henry on Thursday morning to conduct a post mortem on the country’s disastrous World Cup.
The French radio station RMC claim that Henry, will be flying back on his own in a private jet later today.
The former Arsenal striker, and the last remaining member of the 1998 World Cup winning squad, will then go on holiday after finalizing his move from Barcelona to Major Soccer League franchise the New York Red Bulls.
The rest of the squad will also fly home today.
Nicolas Anelka was sent home in disgrace after an attack on coach Raymond Domenech who also didn’t cover himself in glory after refusing to shake hands with Carlos Alberto Parreira after the 2-1 defeat against South Africa.
Patrice Evra from Manchester United, and initially the French captain, has threatened to reveal what has gone on in the camp including the reasons for their poor performances and the decision to go on strike.
