Mauritius Police Force Helpless Goodlands (video)
Un policier, payé de l’argent des contribuables, est tenu de faire respecter l’ordre. Ce qui n’est pas toujours le cas chez nous comme le démontrent des images de vidéo surveillance en libre circulation depuis fin janvier. D’une durée de 9m46s, elles ont été prises devant une maison de jeu de Goodlands. On y voit des gabelous assister, impassibles, à une prise de bec qui dégénère vite en bataille rangée. Ils ne lèveront pas le moindre petit doigt pour calmer les esprits surchauffés, préférant s’esquiver lorsque les fauteurs de troubles se ruent dans leur direction.Il est 1 heure du matin devant le casino Monte Games.
Des énergumènes s’en prennent apparemment aux responsables de la maison de jeux. Deux policiers, en sentinelles, observent la scène en hochant du chef. Ils sont rejoints par quatre autres officiers dont l’un, un gradé ventripotent, est armé d’un long bâton. Les images semblent dater de quelques mois, du mois d’octobre dit-on, car l’un des agents de l’ordre est engoncé dans un gros pull.
Pas inquiétés
Deux policiers tentent de disperser les fauteurs de troubles. En vain ! L’un des voyous se permet de «secouer» le policier au pull, sans être inquiété outre mesure. Policiers et voyous semblent bien se connaître, vu la manière dont ils parlementent.Survient une grosse moto. Deux hommes en descendent. Le passager portant cheveux longs pénètre dans l’établissement pour des « explications ». Le pilote, vêtu d’un blouson de cuir noir, jauge la scène. Il passe son casque à un ami et sort un sabre qui était dissimulé dans son dos. Il se rue à son tour à l’intérieur. C’est une vraie mascarade! Les policiers font comme si de rien n’était. Un homme en chemise blanche arrache le sabre des mains de l’homme au blouson noir. Il s’en sert pour frapper le rideau en fer du casino – que des employés tentent de
baisser – et effectue des moulinets en leur direction. Les policiers ne bougent toujours pas. Ils esquivent plutôt la lame du sabre, les plus jeunes se mettant carrément à couvert. C’est la panique. Un homme se saisit d’un tabouret et le lance avec force à l’intérieur du bâtiment.Le tabouret est ensuite projeté contre les panneaux de vitre, là où se tiennent les policiers. Ils tournent le dos aux incidents.L’homme à la chemise blanche se pavane, sabre à la main, tel l’un de ces méchants des films indiens. Un autre tabouret est utilisé. Une fumée blanche apparaît sur l’image. C’est sans doute un extincteur qui a été actionné. La fumée semble gêner les agents qui sont désormais invisibles.

This is the problem the police is not doing the job. Maybe the salary should be raised to avoid them protecting unlawful citizen instead of standing by them. But who is blaming the police force when the leaders are doing the same.

such a shame to the police force. i think and the government should be blame as well. for example i have been to that constabulary of goodlands in january for some inquiries and i didnt have any clue with whom i was talking because they dont wear there name badge and they dont have a hint of law and human rights. their is an overuse of their power.they just a wastage of money. and this is our public money. THATS Y LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE JUST SICK N TIRED OF THIS CORRUPTED COUNTRY AND TRYING IMMIGRATE TO OTHER COUNTRY.

The whole system is not working for the interest of the mauritian public, its not only the police. These guys are just trying to live a life. If they raise hand on the EVIL DOERS, they will be called ASSASINS n some officers being suspended.. N if when they stared at them and did nothing we say they were drunk and coudn’t do anything.. The first priority is to change our laid Back way of thinking. It certain that the police themselves are not happy with what is happening in the country. Policemen in this country are afraid of civilians…I know what i’m talking about…I think they are not well trained and are not physically strong…Haven’t you noticed that most maurician policemen are fatty??? They just sit on their chairs all day, until some interesting case of violence or whatsoever comes to them. Then they’ll get up, take all their time to reach the spot where crime has been committed.
They are supposed to be the example of “order” in this country, but I regret to say that most of them are not commited to their job….I am saying all this, because I’ve been a witness of police actions several times in my life…There are zones in the country where they feel weekened, and do not wish to take action.

We need security in this country…Independant of race, religion etc, we all need to aspire for a peaceful and violence-free life.

The code of conduct of a policeman should be independant to relations(social, family, etc..)
When someone causes an insult to the peace of the society, he or she should be convicted to crime….
When there’s need to take action, action should be taken,but it should be done in the most responsible way and should be ethically driven..
Security is our weekness…Think about it Mauritians , before it’s too late..
The Government should reconsider all that because,if we put policemen to work for us mauritians, they must be well protected. And one solution for this is training..Meaning useful exercises for policemen, like karate,tae kwon do,boxe, etc..
For the work they do, they must be imperatively be trained to protect themselves first, so as to be able to protect civilians….
Look how fat they are how out of shape they are, I was in Mauritius last two week they look like scare crow (soufler li tomber) other look like they spent too much time at there desk eating inmate food,wonder how they will run to save there own life? Hey we have no right to criticise them. They are human n have we ever think that do they possess the right equipment to fight back n protect themselves at the same time?? By the way in mauritius there is too many political influences if the police officers had taken actions then most of them would have been suspended by then. For me personally I’m not saying that Police are not human being. But they have chosen to be police and to work for the public and that what they are getting paid for so if they are not doing there job of course people will talk about and yeah people are not stupid enough to not know if the police are not doing their job. I think Cop and Coper you should agree with me as well that police shouldn’t be in a such physical state! I’ve been in the Uk and seen how police work there very impressive nothing to complain. They are physically fit and ready to take actions and very efficient. But in this video it’s very clear that action haven’t been taken straight away if even you saying, Coper, that it’s been taken after right! If you are saying you don’t have the right equipement why not then? I think you guys need to these into consideration and start working seriously for the population hence there will be less complains. Thanks
