Mauritian girls prostituting in London

Sheena B is a typical 20-year-old finance student in United Kingdom. It is her first year at university, she lives away from home and has a part-time job in a supermarket. Not so typical, however is her means of paying her college fees : prostituting to pay for her studies.

Her parents work as a nurse and a school teacher, putting Sheena B in the awkward position where she is receiving money from her parents, yet they do not earn enough to finance their daughter’s studies.

One night while surfing the Internet, depressed and desperately trying to work out how she was going to pay her rent and bills, Sheena B came across a personal ad: “Young man aged 50 looking for occasional massage. Students welcome.”

And so she went, thinking it would be a once-off. She met a 40-year-old man called Ben in a London hotel, who paid her £250 (Rs12500). It was the first time Sheena B had ever seen a £50 note.

Sheena B explained that her prostitution experiences were not regular, but rather, when she urgently needed the money. It was a “selling point” to tell clients she was a student – they were often men in their fifties and looking for a “Lolita” type. Sometimes they were violent, but absolved themselves of guilt by believing they were helping out poor students.

KotZot find out three reasons why students choose prostitution are : their precarious financial situation, the desire to cut ties with traditional family values and the disillusion with love. For the mauritian students prostitution was a temporary situation, a way to finance their studies and a type of validation. “They want to succeed, to “become someone”, to live comfortably,” explained Sheena B.

18-year-old Salma described her experience of having been out with friends one night, drinking and smoking, when a man asked her to go home with him. “When he told me how much he was offering, I didn’t think too deeply,” she admits, “ […] I could pay my rent and continue to go out.”

Although in the UK it’s possible for students to work part-time, live in a share house and earn enough to pay the bills – as well as save up for an overseas adventure – this general formula does not apply to all mauritian students.

For Sheena B, life continues – but without the prostitution. “I’m still a student and I still have a hard time living,” she admitted. Although financial pressures still exist, she realised that prostituting herself to pay for her studies was not the solution. “It’s really hard to find yourself in front of a fifty-year-old man, naked, and to become an object of fantasy.”

Hey guys,I read you comments. It makes good reading .I would however make a comment on the girls prostituting to pay their studies. They live a double standard and that is all. There are males also who are studying in Europe and they do not prostitute to pay their studies.Do they?I live outside my home country with a family and i can manage my little income and i am studying. If these girls are into prostitution its just because they are unable to manage their freedom. They just want to have fun under the shadow of studies.

      • wat 4 studies u must prosttituting///////////dats mean ur nt studing ur prostituting only ok u can fool the world grl…bt nt mauritian people like me thanks…….

dave i hav to say that u r very lucky to hav family support out there wer u live n study.it also seems like u r totally unaware of the situation.the mere fact of u thinkin there r no mauritian male prostitute portrays ur ignorance abt the whole issue.im also happy that u can manage ur small income and pray that u continue to hav at least the minimum to support u.but wat makes u fink tat one cannot hav fun besides prostitution?do u reckon that we wudnt hav fun if we didnt do that thing?is ur life deprived of fun?if it was only fun we were lukin for trust me there r various other ways to hav it.i suggest that u thank the lord every single day that u can afford everything u can to support u in ur studies, coz u hav no idea wat its like being not able to.wats the purpose the fingers in ur hand?is it to point at other people’s faults and miseries?no dave.it helps u hold a spoon to feed urself, hold a pen to educate urself or even better to join them in prayers.did ur faith not prevent u from judgin others?i also sense a hint of sexism in ur speech.i hope im mistaken coz trust me i personally know guys in my situation.i genuinely hope u understood the points im tryin to make dave.gudluck.

      @jerome
im glad the political party that people like u support didnt win the election.the triolet incident were condemned by most people in mauritius both hindus n non-hindus.u say we shud consider ourselves mauritian first n then indian, well the same shud apply to u who consider urself french rather than mauritian.i think u r just bitter coz u cudnt do wat u did the mauritian of african origin(destroyed their culture n religion).preserving our religion has nofin to do with india.and as far as culture is concerned, not a single indian citizen wud recognise our culture coz its syncretised as a new indo-mauritian culture.the way we live is totally unique to mauritius.we blended enough and feels mauritian, but maybe not to ur liking.and let me tell u!the reason why we r called or call ourself INDIEN is becoz the colonists branded us this way, that doesnt mean we r indian citizens.the sino-mauritians r called SINOIS,it still doesnt make the chinese citizens.ur language resembles the people u support.how can u people talk of unity when u r the same people who divide?r u a hypocrite?u do not want unity!unity wud mean that the mauritians who u call malbars and creole who u say hav limited I.Q wud come together n rule the economy n ultimately find out that they r still being robbed by the small minority.this wud mean the end of rule of ur clan n race.im sure u wudnt want that.wat a hypocrite!U LOST THE ELECTIONS!WHERE R THE BOERS WHO WERE SUPPOSE TO TAKE OVER?THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO HAV A LOT OF MONEY N WUD BRIBE EVERYBODY TO MAKE MMM WIN!WAT HAPPENED?DID U RUN OUT OF MONEY?UR PLAN AND UR CLAN FAILED!NOW WE HAV SURPRISES FOR U!WAIT AND SEE WAT MALBAR N CREOLES CAN DO.U SHUD BE HIDING SOMEWHERE OUT OF SHAME!THE AMOUNT OF NONSENSE U WROTE!LIKE WE WUD SAY IM MAURITIUS.ENE POIL TO PANN KAPAV RASSE!

Hey You Jerome Lagesse, what a racist thug you are!!!! De Boer, what is there to be proud with those bastards. They are thieves and opportunists who stole land that is not theirs. Shut up your big racist mouth and go live in Europe if you are so fond of white people you low life scum!!!! No wonder you people are still trying to steal land away from black people. After Africa, America, Australia, Canada… Now is time to pillage and steal Arab lands such as Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan which is your last stop my friend, for those people aren’t little pussies like the rest, these are fighters who will fight your racist scum to death.

For prostitution, bah, those girls have no souls. They are low life scums, there is no excuse for selling your body to anyone. Specially even less for MONEY!!! I know many poor people who can’t afford things, hence they dream little. Where as those girls wanna live the western life and would sell their souls to do this. Get a life you scums, a simple life that won’t involve selling your body to achieve those out of proportion dreams of westerners wanna be.

prostituting for your studies!!!! or for other expenses

when i know i do not have the means( financial or non financial) for further studies abroad why i’ll go to abroad…thats z main question

she tells us that she has to finance her studies.but according to me before leaving Mauritius she had calculated approximately the cost of study and cost of living abroad. if she did not have the money why she went abroad

Nowadays, Mauritius has a better level of education namely charles telfair institute providing Australian degree, UTM, UOM and other institutions where UK courses are provided. so why to leave yr country. so dnt misunderstanding me

she prostitutes for her ‘studies’…thats her private benefits!!!! not ours. she will benefit from the degree and get a better job.thats her life
she’s mature and knows what to do…she could have return to Mauritius to her family but no…she’ll lose her reputation of coming back empty handed
