Job Fair : Informatique ces postes qui ne trouvent pas preneurs
Maurice a un potentiel énorme pour le secteur informatique. Nous avons de nombreuses possibilités d’expansion , déclare Aaron Moss, Recruting Manager d’ Infosys Technologies Limited. Comme celle- ci, plusieurs autres entreprises dans ce secteur ont participé à un Job Fair au cours du Salon Infotech à Pailles durant le week- end. Mais, si les entreprises avaient de nombreux postes à proposer, les candidats n’avaient pas les qualifications adéquates.
« Nous n’avons pas eu autant d’affluence que nous l’espérions » , avoue Mehtab Auckbarally, HR Administrator chez Ceridian BPO . Pourtant, ce Salon de l’emploi se voulait un espace de recrutement direct, sur lequel comptait notamment Infosys Technologies Limited . Le probléme principal demeure la formation. « Il n’y a pas assez de personnes qualifiées à Maurice » , résume Salahuddin Mahadee, Technical Support Assistant chez Technology Management Services . « Nous sommes à la recherche d’un personnel qualifié » , confirme Parvez Soobhany, Senior Software Engineer chez Accenture . Quelles sont donc ces qualifications qui font défaut ? Ces entreprises recherchent en fait des détenteurs de diplômes universitaires, voire des personnes ayant déjà une expérience professionnelle.
Car les projets doivent avancer trés vite dans le secteur informatique.
A l’ére d’Internet, l’efficacité est obligatoire ; les employeurs ne peuvent se permettre de perdre du temps en formation. Ils veulent embaucher du personnel déjà prêt à l’emploi.
Il s’agit notamment de développeurs de logiciels, familiers au langage informatique. Et puis, une fois ce logiciel développé, il faut aussi compter les tests, l’intégration et la maintenance. Chaque étape nécessite un nouveau poste. Et chaque nouveau projet, une nouvelle équipe.
D’autres entreprises encore misaient sur le Salon de l’Emploi pour augmenter leur base de données. « Nous avons besoin de constituer une base de données. Ainsi, dés qu’un nouveau projet est approuvé, nous contactons les personnes pour constituer l’équipe » , explique Mehtab Auckbarally. Les futurs employés doivent pouvoir être libres immédiatement, ou au plus tard dans 15 jours.
En ce qu’il s’agit du Salon Infotech lui- même, Suraj Ramgoolam, président du National Computer Board , évoque un bilan positif.
L’événement a attiré 70 000 visiteurs, soit un nombre supérieur aux prévisions.
Oui c’est vrai que rechercher un personnel qualifiant n’est pas facile contrairement à ce que l’on pense, mais à force de chercher on finira toujours par trouver.
Pas etonnat..Premierement vu que les etudiants ne sont pas assez informer des perspectives d’emplois dans ce vaste secteur qu’est l’informatiqueEt deuxiemement a vous pu constater la somme a depenser pour les cours incl frais de materiel par an.
s’il trouvent l’emploi desirer… il faudrait qu’ils aient deja de l’experience et aussi a qualifier pour le poste voulu..
Je pense que c’est pourquoi un Français sur deux se décide de créer leur propre entreprise. C’est une bonne idée, au lieu d’attendre l’appel téléphonique pour le fameux “on vous appelle pour le poste … ” Il vaut mieux être son propre patron, en fait ce n’est pas une chose facile mais comme dit le dicton “vouloir c’est pouvoir”.

I partly agree with what JT said. students are not well informed of the jobs in it to follow because of lack of information in mauritius.
Well i tell honestly that I have done BCS courses and not diploma in it… done by a lazy training center in ebene. i did move follow techinical courses because i didint want to be a programmer
Moved on with A+ , Network + and security + and just suspended my mcse courses and before i finally decided that i would give up of not doing my ccna for the time being .

The job market is saturated with it techicians and network engineers! 3 years have passed and i’m still left with NO job after many interviews.Very few want to do programming and do not know what to study.
i’m thinking what a waste of time and money i got myself into, no job proposals i guess because i do no thave any experience which is hard to get if your jobless and recruiters do not employ you.your stuck.
So yeah sadly i will not wait for long before moving to do something else that I.T

The typo in my previous comment was due to fast typing, not bad spelling. I scored Distinction in English both in SC and HSC before I moved on to tertiary studies in IT.
As for people not wanting to study programming, is it a surprise that the job market is saturated with technicians and network engineers? It requires a specific kind of aptitude and intelligence to be able to cut good code in Java, Perl, VBA, SQL, etc. You want a job? then avoid the CCNA and Comms course – get stuck into SQL programming and/or complex web design. And while you are unemployed, start your own business as a freelance consultant and seek help in publicising your services. Employment and experience are part of a Catch 22 vicious circle.

I dont think that it is the right place to recruit people who post comments provided with their email address kept on this site and without their prior consent, this is ridiculous..where would be the level of confidentiality and privacy then?
If a recruitment was to be done like that well it not be very professional to me.

I have technical certificates from Cisco Systems and Microsoft and i have a done certificate level in it from BCS and after 3 years striving to acheive these qualifactions i am still looking for a job in this industry something like i.t technician or networking or administration.. think i went to 6 or 7 interviews but was never given the job i applied for..i’m really confused about what to do next because i already planned my career and yet unable to acheive my goals.
Speaking of experience that are shown of job advertisements, honnestly i say in interviews that i have some but i think it is not enuff to get a job..
Bu how do i get a job that requires you to have 2-3 years experience if i amnot able to start somewhere..i wish employers could understand that…:(
