Emirates Airlines will hold its third recruitment campaign of the year on November 19. An Open Day will comprise interactions to be conducted at La Plantation Resort and Spa in Balaclava. Successful candidates will proceed for interviews.
Besides good English communication skills, the selection team will be looking for adaptable, confident and positive people “who have the team orientation to work successfully alongside others in a truly international airline”.
After going through a careful selection process, new recruits are put through five weeks of intensive training and assessment at the Emirates Aviation College in Dubai. Thjirty-two Mauritians were recruited in similar campaigns held in February and June this year which brought the number to 94 Mauritians forming part of Emirates’ award-winning cabin crew team.
Oomar Ramtoola, Emirates’ Manager-Indian Ocean Islands, said that “Emirates is carrying out yet another recruitment exercise in Mauritius demonstrating the quality of the local candidates. The fact that Mauritians speak English and French is an undeniable advantage. We are also glad to note that a lot of young Mauritians aspire to work for Emirates.”
He added: “This is our third recruitment exercise in Mauritius this year. It gives a clear indication of the airline’s active role in the local economy, over and above its support to the tourism industry”.
Nearly 11,000 cabin crew, spanning 131 nationalities, currently serve the airline. All are based in Dubai. On top of an attractive tax free salary, the airline provides new recruits with luxury shared accommodation, equipped with facilities such as gyms and air-conditioning.
